Recently I moved to a new laptop and apparently on Mac there’s no way to save/import your preferences so for a while I had to use the default ones and it was driving me absolutely crazy how slow the modelling process becomes 🤦♀️ It reminded me that I actually saw myself in one of the offices I used to work that all my colleagues were using only a few default shortcuts 🤯
And judging from the poll in my stories they aren’t lonely on this 🤷♀️
Using keyboard shortcuts is the biggest timesaver in SketchUp workflow!
As I was assigning shortcuts from my memory I decided to write them down and share them with you guys as I know this is a huge timesaver! 💁♀️ (how to train yourself to use a shortcut instead of finding command with a mouse: open a list of your shortcuts on your phone in front of you and for a day or two force yourself using only shortcuts - in a few days it will become imprinted in your muscle memory - ta-dam 🤩)

So here's step by step tutorial how to assign a custom shortcuts in SketchUp:
Go to SketchUp menu ➙ Preferences

2. Go to Shortcuts ➙ either scroll through the Functions to find the you want to assign new shortcut

3. Or type it in the Filter ➙ select it to assign a shortcut

And here's my tried-and-true list of incredibly useful shortcuts
